On the occasion marking International Earth Day, the Daniel Murariu Foundation donated 450 oak, ash and accacia saplings that were planted by several dozen schoolchildren from the Prisacani, Satu Nou and Macaresti villages. The action took place to raise the civic spirit of schoolchildren, making the commune more beautiful and to help combat the effects of global warming.
The planting took place on land was provided by the Local Council of Prisacani Commune with the help of village elders, forest ranger and local leaders including the mayor, Mr. Constantin Chirila, and the teachers Mrs. Georgiana Nita and Mrs. Valentina Iftimie.
The foundation was represented by Madalina Popazu and George Prisacaru helped procure and transport the saplings.
