Oral Hygiene Awareness Campaign at the Prisacani School; April 18th, 2008

On April 18th 2008, the foundation organized an oral hygiene awareness at the Prisacani School of Arts and Crafts. Three dental students from the dental school in Iasi, Cristina Ursu, Claudia Cobzaru and Cornelia Oanta, volunteered their time to come speak to the 250 students. Each of the volunteers spoke to a class for about 15 minutes showing them how to use a toothbrush correctly and the importance of good oral hygiene practices. At the end of each presentation, each student received a toothbrush and Colgate toothpaste.

As they were leaving the school premises, what really surprised the foundation members and volunteers was the sight of a long line of school children outside the bathroom waiting their turn to… brush their teeth! It seems the intended effect took place immediately afterwards.

Many thanks to Johnny Huffman and his staff at Fairvahaven Ministries for acquiring and donating the toothbrushes and toothpaste.
